​So these are just a handful of headlines I've seen for workout/diet programs around online written by well-known "fitness gurus."

Maybe the last one was a tiny bit exaggerated ;)​

But it makes you wonder, doesn't it?

With all this seemingly "groundbreaking" research plus amazing tricks and loopholes to help guys get ripped, why is it that 99% of guys just have a average or below-average physiques? 

Why do the majority of guys fail miserably in their pursuit of building that perfectly lean, muscular, and proportionate body despite having access to all these "cutting edge" programs? 

I mean, it's not like these programs are complete bullshit and fitness gurus grossly over exaggerate claims and lie just to make money, right? 

Oh wait, that's exactly what's going on. 

This is what the fitness industry has become and it makes me sick.

I swear, if I see another one of these sleazy ads and sales pages that prey on the ignorant, I'm going to seriously throw the f*ck up. 

The amount of "evil" in the fitness industry is mind blowing. ​

​Everything has become about the money and most companies just trying to find the craziest, over the top approaches to sell their shit (even if none of their claims are true). 

It's a money first, "results" don't really matter industry. ​

​Trust me, if someone discovered a legitimate, game changing fitness trick or loophole, you wouldn't need to pay $97 to find out what it is. That shit would be all over the news and media for free.

​The biggest secret in fitness isn't from those random Chinese scientists who have discovered "groundbreaking" research.

And it's not through any hormonal "loopholes" in your body. 

The Myth Vs. Reality Of Getting Ripped

Look, the mainstream media, Hollywood, and the fitness industry wants you to believe that the process of losing fat and building muscle is much more complicated than it actually is. 

If you're on Facebook and Instagram, all you see are super ripped fitness dudes always talking about how hardcore they are with their lifestyle and how their secret to success is through some random supplement that they're a sponsor for. 

​You probably hear about how actors like Chris Pratt and Daniel Craig had to essentially live in the gym and give up all their favorite foods in order to get ripped for their movie roles.

I'm going to show you how to make the "REALITY" on the right become your reality (yup, that's the cheesiest thing I've said today)

​But seriously, I want to show you that fitness doesn't have to be anywhere nearly as complicated and painful as most people make it out to be. 

​Unfortunately most guys do believe that you need to kill yourself in the gym and eat bland, boring "clean" foods 24/7. 

Most guys still do believe that there's some secret "hack" to getting the results they want. ​

And all these lies and misinformation are holding them back from getting the results they want.

The way I see it, these are the 3 big problems holding guys back from building their dream body...

​The 3 Most Common Problems Keeping People From Building A Lean And Muscular Superhero Physique (And How To Fix Them)

PROBLEM #1: Nutrition Confusion

Paleo, low carb, low fat, carb cycling, vegan, acai berry miracles, gluten free...

To say that there's a massive amount of conflicting nutrition and diet advice is an understatement.​

And there's no arguing that nutrition plays an absolutely vital role when it comes to building muscle and losing fat, so how do you know what to believe? 

While I can't list out every single thing that is or isn't true, I can tell you some fundamental laws of nutrition that hold true no matter what (all backed by scientific research).

Nutrition Law #1: Calories Do Matter

​Calories matter, A LOT.

It's the law of thermodynamics - calories in, calories out. [1]

You need to eat less to lose weight and eat more to gain ​weight.

I have never met a single guy who over ate 3000 calories worth of "healthy" foods and still lost weight.

Want to look like Thor? Then know how much you're eating.

Just like I have never met a guy who only ate 500 calories per day and massive amounts of muscle like Chris Hemsworth.​

​If you hear anyone say stuff like "It's all about the types of food you eat, calories don't matter," then run.

​Of course, from a nutrition/micronutrient standpoint, 500 calories worth of chips & soda is not the same as 500 calories worth of doughnuts. 

I am NOT saying you can just eat whatever you want as long as you're within your calories. 

But I am saying that the foundation of every diet starts with your overall calorie intake.

From there we can get more technical and get into macronutrients and specific types of foods​ but you need to nail the fundamentals of calories down first.

Nutrition Law #2: Meal Frequency Doesn't Matter

You can eat 6 meals per day or 1 meals per day and in the end, you'll see the exact same results (assuming calories and macros are equal). 

Bodybuilding culture has made us believe that you must eat 6x per day in order to keep your metabolism up, but scientific research has shown otherwise. 

In fact, a 2010 study at the School Of Human Kinetics, University of Ottawa found that:

"People who ate 6 meals per day did not lose more weight vs. people who ate 3 meals per day." 

So in the end, it's all about staying within your calories for the day. The number of meals that you eat is completely up to you.  Pick what suits your lifestyle the best! [2]

Nutrition Law #3: You Can Eat Your Favorite Foods Every Day
And Still Lose See Amazing Results

​Eating clean is a big fat lie. 

Simple as that.

This is probably one of the most controversial things I could say since so many people have such deep, emotional, borderline religious beliefs about eating clean but it needs to be said.​

Yes, you can eat this and still get killer results.

​Of course eating wholesome, nutritious foods is always a good idea but that doesn't mean you still can't enjoy your favorite foods like pizza and ice cream.

​The main problem we have today is too many people think that the moment your lip touches a "dirty" food like a cheesecake, your body automatically turns everything into fat and the day is ruined. 

The big problem here isn't the foods themselves but the dose (how much you're eating).

​When you just use some common sense and be mindful of how much you're eating ,you'll find that it's incredibly easy to eat healthy but still fit your favorite foods in on a daily basis. 

And I'll even show you a way using my system below to accelerate results by eating more of your favorite foods. ​

PROBLEM #2: Big Fat Workout Lies

Just like nutrition, there is a massive amount of confusion around the best way to workout to get that badass lean and muscular body.

We have Crossfit, sprints, circuit training, high reps, kettle what the hell actually works? 

Here's what you need to understand: ​

You don't need to train 5-7x per week...

When you hear about how Hollywood superheroes like Chris Pratt and Ryan Reynolds workout 5-7x per week for 2 hours at a time, you can't help but think you need to do the same to see similar results.

This level of sexiness can be achieved with less than 5 workouts per week.

​But in reality, you don't need anywhere near that amount. 

In fact most guys only need to workout 2-3x per week if they're a beginner and 3-4x per week if they're a bit more advanced.

​By now you're probably thinking, "But if someone like Ryan Reynolds trained 5x per week, shouldn't I do the same?"

Fair question.​

​Here's what you need to understand: all those 2 hour, 5 day per week routines that celebrities use are designed to help them get in shape as fast as possible. They literally need to live in the gym to see the results that you see on screen.

Celebrity personal trainers are trying to compress the amount of time it takes to get in shape by increasing the training load and frequency, but it almost always leads to short term results and rebound weight gain. 

​Tell me, do you want to live in the gym and have your entire life structured around working out, thinking about working out, and mentally burning out.

Of course not. That's no way to live.​

Working out should be structured around your life, not the other way around.​

Only doing traditional cardio will ruin your physique...

If your goal is to lose fat, using cardio as your main form of exercise is the absolute last thing you want to do. 

​Maybe you've experienced this yourself and have spent hours slaving away on the treadmill but the weight just never goes down and you still have that soft, pudgy stomach that makes you self-conscious. 

This is why I recommend to never ​use cardio as your main workout. 

Instead, almost everyone should be lifting weights and focus on getting stronger if they want to build a lean and muscular body. 

​Simply doing cardio will do nothing but burn muscle mass and if you do end up losing weight, you'll just end up looking like a smaller & weaker version of yourself.

Lifting weights does the opposite.

It builds muscle, sculpts your body into a Greek god, and even boosts your metabolism.

And speaking of lifting weights...​

Lifting light weights for high reps isn't the best way to get ripped...

I don't know about you, but lifting something for 20+ reps bores the crap out of me. 

Not only that, but it's an incredibly ineffective way to lose fat and build muscle. ​

If you really want to maximize results, the majority of your workouts should be in 4-6 rep range. ​

​Lifting heavy (in the 4-6 rep range) produces a much greater hormonal response and makes the process of building muscle, maintaining muscle, and losing fat 137x more efficient than lifting light weights for high reps. 

If you need proof, just go to your gym and look at the most muscular, leanest guys there. I guarantee not a single guy there is pumping out ​50+ reps with 10 pound dumbbells. 

Note: Yes, I just made up the​ 137x multiplier :). Point is, there are a lot more benefits to heavy lifting for lower reps than lifting light for high reps.

Fitness is a very emotional sub​ject but most fitness gurus completely ignore the psychology and mindset behind it, causing a lot of guys to set themselves up for failure.

  • How do you actually maintain healthy long term habits?
  • How do you get amazing results and rewire your mindset so you maintain your results for the rest of your life.
  • ​What do you do when you lose motivation and fail? 
  • How the hell do you even find motivation in the first place?

These are just a handful of incredibly important questions that must be answered if you want to succeed.

And when I say succeed, I don't mean just lose 10-15 pounds.

 I mean you need to master your own mindset, so you can lose 10-15 pounds (or whatever your goal is) and actually keep it off for the rest of your life.

I always say, the man who hustles the hardest and is the hungriest to reach his goals will always come out on top no matter what.

It doesn't matter if your workout is designed by one of the top trainers in the world; none of it matters if you don't have the right mindset and actually follow through with it. 

And this is why so many guys fail.

They say getting in amazing shape is 80% nutrition, 20% training.

I don't believe that to be the case at all.

I truly believe building a great physique is 80% mindset, 10% nutrition, 10% training. 

Guys focus on the all the shiny "tactics" and quick fixes but ignore the most vital part of the equation - ​their mindset and how they think.

Well you're wrong.

Dr. Pepper is nasty, I would never drink it. 

Okay kidding aside, ​let me really introduce myself...

​Look, while I could talk about the 300,000+  visitors per month I get to my blog and the thousands of guys I've helped build their dream bodies, none of that really matters. 

​I'm Just An Average Guy With Very Average Genetics Who Has Made Every Mistake In Book

When I first started working out, my goal was to look like Ryan Reynolds in Blade: Trinity.

Yeah the movie sucked balls, but it was his physique that gave me the inspiration to start training.

And for 5 painful years, I tried EVERY workout, diet, fitness secret, trick, and hack in the book:

  • I did traditional "1 body part per day" bodybuilder splits, circuit training, metabolic resistance training
  • I tried my hand at powerlifting workouts but only injured myself
  • I did a lot of 10-15 rep pump training that got me pumped up and not much else
  • I tried to running for 1 hour per day in hopes of getting ripped
  • I did every variation of low carb dieting imaginable but then realized how much I like doughnuts. 
  • I spent a good 6-12 months trying to make paleo dieting work
  • I did the whole "eat brown rice and chicken" every 2-3 hours diet
  • I even tried fasting for 67 hours straight once (definitely DO NOT recommend this)
  • And a lot more stupid crap...

So where did I end up after 5 years of experimenting and trying countless workouts and diets? 

What I looked like after 5 years of secrets and "groundbreaking" programs.

Like I said...super average genetics.

​Look, I wasn't in horrible shape. I gained some strength and a little bit of muscle mass (maybe 10 pounds in 5 years) but it was nothing spectacular.

Overall my results were pretty bad considering how long I've been training and dieting.

I knew there had to be a better way. ​

​I knew I was doing something very wrong, but couldn't put my finger on it. 

How I Broke All The "Rules" And Built The Lean And Muscular Body Of My Dreams

I refused to give up.

​I started to move away from all the different workout & diet gimmicks and started diving more into the real science behind fat loss and muscle building and analyzed how the most successful people really built their bodies.
